A large pride of Lions can be seen on daily game drives through this pristine sanctuary making Magashi camp a perfect Big Game safari after your Gorilla trek in Rwanda. Akagera is quickly becoming one of Africa's most incredible birding destinations with recent sightings of the rare Shoebill stork; an birding opportunity not easily sourced elsewhere on the continent.

Bordering Tanzania, the Akagera National Park is 247,105 acres offering one of the most beautiful savannah areas in all of Africa. Magashi’s game concession spans a private area of 14,826 acres including the spectacular lakes. Activities range from land game drives, boating excursions and bird walking safaris with guides. Birding in this area is internationally recognized for its abundance; some 500 species are on display. The rare Shoebill stork and the near endemic red faced barbet are special sightings at the park.
