Vumbura Plains Camp

Vumbura Plains Camp offers both land and water activities with a diversity of habitats and wildlife. Vumbura Plains Camp offers two camps, each with 7 suites. All of the rooms are raised off the ground on wooden platforms offering a large, bedroom, lounge, "sala" and each has its own private plunge pool. The annual floodplains are locally known as Melapo and during the dry season months offer spectacular sightings of Elephant and rarer species such as the Sable Antelope which is a special find in the Okavango. The area sometimes has African wild dogs and several prides of Lion. Some of the largest herds of Cape Buffalo are seen moving through the concession. Of particular note also is the exceptional birding at Vumbura Plains with impressive sightings of Wattled Crane, Pink-backed pelican, Pel’s Fishing Owl, Slaty Egret, Rosy-throated longclaw and many others.
