A myriad streams
A collection of myriad streams and little rivers form the catchment of the Okavango Delta, fed by summer rains falling between October and April, swelling the waters between December and March. This delta owes its creation to tectonic movements in a set of fault lines in the earth’s weaker crust along an extension of the Great Rift Valley in East Africa, still occurring today.
By the dry winter, these scenic floodplains and islands encapsulate some of Africa’s most abundant concentrations of predators and antelope, also providing a spectacular diversity of birdlife.
